The Story

About the Production

AA: The Musical (A Production Most Definitely Not Authorized or Endorsed by A.A.W.S.) is a bold, irreverent contemporary musical comedy that explores the absurdity of being human through the chaotic world of alcoholism, addiction, and recovery. When Kirk, a fast-talking sales executive with a talent for weaseling his way out of trouble, finds himself sentenced to 30 Alcoholics Anonymous meetings in 30 days, he enters a world of unlikely friendships, eccentric personalities, uncomfortable truths, and unexpected hilarity. Blending sharp satire, heartfelt storytelling, and an eclectic original score, AA: The Musical takes audiences on a journey through denial, desperation, connection, and self-discovery. At its heart, it's a story about the lengths we go to avoid facing ourselves—and what happens when we finally do.

Act One

When a charming, fast-talking sales executive finds his carefully constructed life unraveling, a DUI lands him in court-ordered Alcoholics Anonymous meetings. Convinced he doesn't belong, Kirk attempts to outsmart sobriety while navigating an eccentric cast of characters who challenge everything he thinks he knows about himself.

Act Two

As Kirk stumbles through the chaos of early recovery, unexpected friendships, uncomfortable truths, and old habits force him to confront the very things he's spent his life avoiding. What begins as a desperate attempt to escape consequences becomes a journey toward honesty, connection, and the possibility of genuine change through recovery.
